Synthesis of Supported Palladium Catalysts
The synthesis of supported palladium (Pd) catalysts is reviewed with emphasis on the chemistry of catalyst synthesis, oxidic and carbon support properties and case studies in the period 1990-2000. For the application of Pd onto oxidic supports aqueous precursor solutions are frequently used. The charge of the Pd precursor and the iso-electric point of the support are important properties since ...
متن کاملPalladium nanoparticles supported onto ionic carbon nanotubes as robust recyclable catalysts in an ionic liquid.
Palladium nanoparticles have been deposited onto imidazolium bromide-functionalized ionic MWCNTs through hydrogen reduction of Na2PdCl4 in water without aid of surfactants under extremely mild conditions, and combined with an ionic liquid to create a new recyclable ionic liquid-based catalytic system allowing up to 50 times recycling.

TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center, Chemistry Institute, 41470 Gebze, Kocaeli, Turkey Email: [email protected] Activated carbon-supported palladium catalysts are liable to progressive deactivation even in the absence of any gaseous contaminants during the oxidation of hydrogen under ambient conditions. The high value of palladium coupled with environmental considerations means that n...
متن کاملPlanar oxide supported rhodium nanoparticles as model catalysts.
C(2)H(4)/CO/H(2) reaction is investigated on Rh/SiO(2) model catalyst surfaces. Kinetic reactivity and infrared spectroscopic measurements are investigated as a function of Rh particle size under near atmospheric reaction conditions. Results show that propionaldehyde turnover frequency (TOF) (CO insertion pathway) exhibits a maximum activity near = 2.5 nm. Polarization modulation infrare...
متن کاملPalladium nanoparticles supported on a triptycene-based microporous polymer: highly active catalysts for CO oxidation.
Pd nanoparticles were well dispersed on a new triptycene-based microporous polymer support by the gas bubbling-assisted membrane reduction (GBMR) method. The stability of Pd nanoparticles is improved by the porous support, and the materials show excellent performance for CO oxidation.
